Words and Music by Mary E. Jennings (about St. Theresa)
Little Flower of Jesus, pray for us today.
Pray for us to Jesus, in your little way.
Tell Him that we love him; please don't let us stray,
From that road that leads to heaven, to be with Him someday.
Lovely rose of Carmel, bright star in paradise,
You spent each earthly moment in prayer and sacrifice.
You offered all to Jesus, ev'ry sorrow, ev'ry pain,
And He received your gifts of love for souls to regain.
Little Flower of Jesus, pray for us today.
Pray for us to Jesus, in your little way.
Tell him that we love him; please don't let us stray,
From that road that leads to heaven, to be with him someday.
You promised to spend your heaven doing good upon this earth.
Little flower hear us; from this vale of tears we call.
Intercede with Jesus. Let those roses fall!
“Immaculate Queen”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings (on August 5, 1987)
Chorus
Immaculate Queen, triumph and reign
Triumph and Reign Forever
Lilly of Purity, Star of the Sea
Immaculate Virgin
We call upon Thee
We are your poor children
Please hear our plea
Triumph and reign forever
Chosen by God
Christ’s Mother to be
Chosen by God for eternity
Conceived without sin
From all stain kept free
Christ’s last gift to us on Calvary
Chorus
“Sacred Heart of Jesus”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings (March 25, 1984)
chorus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, what a friend I have in thee,
You’re my rock and my salvation, you’re everything to me.
You’re my strength upon life’s journey, you’re blood has set me free.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee.
Like that beacon in the light house, your rays shine out on
me,
As life has tossed me to and fro, on this wild and impetuous sea.
I feel those waves a’ coming, They’re closing in on me,
I call on the Heart of Jesus, to come and rescue me.
chorus
My journey to that golden shore, at times is very rough,
I trust the Heart of Jesus, in Him I have enough.
In my trials and tribulations, you come so close to me,
Stretch out your hand, dear Jesus, and calm this rugged sea.
chorus
I am your poor, tired child,
And my only hope is thee,
Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place my trust in Thee.
chorus
“Our Lady of Knock”
Written by Mary Ellen Jennings
It was on August twenty one,
in eighteen seventy nine,
In a little church in East Mayo, a place now called Knock Shrine.
It was late evening time, after the setting sun,
The farmers coming from the fields, their days work was done.
The children playing
everywhere, unaware of their country’s plight,
Their little hearts were filled with joy, the start of their young lives.
The older folks were weary, they had lived to see their country,
Persecuted from sea to shining sea, they held on to their rosaries,
And prayed so faithfully.
They knew that God was
listening, to their humble litany,
They knew he had the power, that power to set them free,
To swallow up the enemy, as he did in the red sea.
Then all was quiet and
peaceful, on that green countryside,
The Angelus bells were ringing, could be heard for miles and miles.
Then suddenly it happened, to everyone’s surprise,
The Eastern wall of the little church, shone with a heavenly light.
The people started
gathering, around that gable wall,
The queen of heaven appeared to them, and shone her light on all.
Two great saints accompanied her, St. Joseph and St. John,
And on the altar, at the side, stood the Lamb of God.
As they gazed upon this
vision, what peers and joy was theirs,
They knew through her intercession, that Ireland would be spared.
She looked so fair and beautiful, to all those standing there,
Her eyes turned to heaven, her hands stretched out in prayer.
Interceding with the father,
on their behalf,
Begging his mercy on them, through the precious blood of the Lamb.
“Our Infant King”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings (on Christmas Day, 1984)
In a cave in Bethlehem, the king of kings was born,
The only son of the Almighty One came to save all men from scorn.
His virgin mother greeted him with her perfect love,
And presenting him to Joseph, as the angels sang above.
Chorus
Glory and praise to God on high and peace on Earth to men,
Glory and praise to God on Earth and to our infant King.
His humble parents in ecstasy on that glorious day,
Dressed the infant in swaddling cloths and laid him on the hay.
The angels sang in heaven and the angels sang on Earth,
The star shown so brightly o’er the city of his birth.
Chorus
The shepherds caring for their flocks heard the angels sing,
And heaven sent a message to the humblest of men.
Rejoice, rejoice, praise God on high, peace on Earth to men,
Today in the city of David lives your infant King.
Chorus
This star of God will guide you, and lead you on your way,
You’ll find the infant in swaddling cloths sleeping on the hay.
The shepherds started to follow the star that lead them on their way
And when they reached that holy place, that’s where the star did stay.
Chorus
On entering in what joy was theirs where the peace of God
abides,
They found the infant Jesus with his parents at this side,
And with love and humility, they adored Mary’s child.
“St. Patrick”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings (on St. Patrick’s Day, 1984)
St. Patrick was chosen, by
heaven above,
Chosen by God, to bring Ireland his love.
The gospel of Jesus, He preached through that land,
Although they were pagan, they listened to him.
He told them that Jesus had
died for their sins,
And the gold gates to heaven were open for them.
“Repent, he baptized, and confess your sins.
Be filled with the spirit, and be born again.”
With a shamrock he taught
them of the three person in God,
The Father, the Son and the Spirit are one.
He built many churches, north, south, east and west
And Ireland was known as the isle of the blessed.
He was their first bishop
and long did he reign,
And at Down Patrick lay his scare remains.
But his spirit is in Heaven, in glory above,
And on his poor children, he looks down in love.
He has received now from
Jesus, the crown that he won,
And intercedes for us, his prodigal sons.
If we pray to St. Patrick, and live in God’s grace,
With Jesus we will meet him, one day at that gate.
“Holy St. Joseph”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Holy St. Joseph, so meek and so mild,
Please walk beside me, your prodigal child.
Guide and protect me, ‘till my dying day,
Holy St. Joseph, take my spirit away.
Take me to Jesus, with the queen at my side,
Ask him for mercy, on this prodigal child.
He know that I’ve fallen, many times on the way,
With your intercession, he shall not delay,
To take me to heaven, forever to stay.
What a joy I’ll experience, that glorious day,
I’ll join with the angels and saints as they pray.
Giving glory and praise, and thanksgiving to God,
Alleluia forever to our triune God,
Alleluia forever to our triune God.
“Voices of Angels”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
I hear the voice of angels calling from above,
Speaking of God’s mercy, the splendor of his love.
When I’m alone and weary, I feel that no one cares,
Then I hear the voice of angels, calling from out there.
Rejoice, Rejoice!
Jesus is the King!
He reigns for all eternity,
Let us rejoice in him.
Let us rejoice in him.
Let us rejoice in him.
He reigns for all eternity,
Let us rejoice in him.
“Calling You”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Calling you, calling you. Calling you today.
Asking you to follow Him, pleading do not stray.
Jesus I will follow, I do not know the way.
He is the truth, He is the light, there is no other way.
I called you to existence,
I formed you out of clay,
I put the breath of life in you,
I called you each by name.
Chorus
I came to Earth to save your souls,
That you might live with me.
Dying on a cross on Calvary,
Is the price I paid for thee.
Chorus
“Not My Will But Thine”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Not my will but thine, oh Lord
Not my will but thine.
Give me the grace, to always say,
Not my will but thine.
When things go wrong,
The road gets rough,
It’s dark on either side,
Be thou that light,
That guides me home,
Singing not my will but thine.
Chorus
“Praise be the Holy Trinity”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Praise be the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and spirit three
Praise be the blessed unity, praise be the holy trinity.
May thy grace descend on me,
Father, son and spirit three,
The key to heaven is one in three,
Praise be the holy trinity.
Chorus
The queen of heaven was crowned by thee,
crowned by the holy Trinity
And forever she lives with thee,
Reigns for all eternity.
Chorus
And for her children here below,
she’ll pray to God his grace bestow
If we take our cross and follow thee,
We’ll live for all
eternity.
“If I Met Jesus Today”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
If I met Jesus today, would I know Him
Would I greet him the way that I should
Would I bow down in worship before Him
And thank Him for all He has done.
Where do I meet my Jesus
Where do I meet my God
In the poor and the lonely, the sick and the dying
That’s where I meet my God
In a prison so dark and so dreary
With steel and iron and walls
With hearts as cold as that prison
That’s where I meet my God
In a youth who has no one to love Him
No friend, no kindred, no home
When drugs are his only companion
That’s where I meet my God
In an Infant that comes straight from Heaven
The image of God up above
In need of love and attention
That’s where I meet my God
“There’s a Light at the End”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
There’s a light at the end of the tunnel
There’s a light at the end of the road
Jesus is the light, Jesus is the way
Jesus is the light of the world
And He’s waiting there for you with a loving heart so true
He’s your light at the end of the road
He will take that cross from you
Yes, he will take that cross from you
He will take it at the end of the road
He’s got crown for you
Designed especially for you
You will receive it at the end of the road
Jesus is the light, Jesus is the way
Jesus is the light of the world
He’s waiting there for you
With a loving heart so true
He’s your light at the end of the road
He’s the light at the end of the road
“Won’t You Spend One Hour With Me”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Won’t you spend one hour with me,
Meditate on my agony,
For three long hours I hung on a tree,
Shed my last drop of blood on Calvary,
The gates of heaven were open to thee,
Through my complete succumb,
Take your cross and follow me,
On that blood stained rode to Calvary,
Take your cross and follow me,
This is the road to eternity.
“The Queen of the Universe”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
It was the thirty first of March, in nineteen
thirty one,
In a little place in the North of France, the Earth shone like the sun.
It was a very special day, the Queen of Heaven appeared,
To greet a chosen child of God, a humble soul called Meiré.
The heavenly court
accompanied her, with Saint Pius the tenth,
He raised his hand in blessing, asked God to give her strength.
Then with a royal salute of love, to her Devine majesty,
“Behold the Immaculate Virgin, the Queen of the Universe”
What God has done in Heaven,
he wills it done on Earth,
She will be your guiding light, to a world of distress.
As Meiré gazed upon this vision, with joy but much dismay,
The queen of Heaven smiled on her and took her fears away.
She said, “My child, I’ve
come to you with a message from my son
Draw this image of me and give it o everyone.”
Spread this devotion to souls far and wide
Enthrone this image in their homes with Jesus by my side.
They shall gather round me,
with their cares and their needs,
And as I did at Canna, I will intercede.
Their prayers and their sacrifices are gems upon my crown,
When Jesus sees it all aglow, he will not turn them down.
And together we will bring
Such joy and peace of mind,
We will help them in their every need
And with love their hearts entwine.
“Your Answer Today is Jesus”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Your answer today is Jesus, your answer today is the Lord.
Walk with Him, talk with Him.
Sing to Him, pray to Him.
Your answer today is the Lord.
When things go crazy around you,
And your world seems evil and cruel.
If confusion is too much to handle,
Then call on the help of the Lord.
Chorus
He’ll be there beside you to help you,
When everything’s out of control.
He’ll come with his peace and his mercy,
And his joy and love to console.
Chorus
If you want to come closer to Jesus,
If you want to walk with the Lord,
Hold hands with the Mother,
You will then be His sister or brother,
Your answer today is the Lord.
Chorus
“Queen of Medugorji”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Queen and mother of
Medugorji, seen by the children’s mystic gaze
Above the holy mountain where they humbly kneeled and prayed.
Cloud like streaming from the ocean pure and free of every stain,
She won their hearts devotion through the ages to remain.
Chorus
Queen and mother of Medugorji, our
loving Queen of peace,
When we call be thou near us, with Jesus intercede
As we gathered around Mount Krizevac to make our prayerful
climb,
We will meditate on Jesus and Him crucified.
We will stop at every station and on our bended knee,
We will thank Him for his mercy, that blood has us free.
Chorus
When we reached that holy
mountaintop, what a grace God had in store,
The sun in all its splendor, its creator did adore
It danced across the heavens and went into a spin,
It touched down beside us and ascended back again.
Chorus
Through the children we were given
a sacred prophecy.
We must fast and pray the rosary and from all sin stay free.
Tender Mother you have clothed us in double garment fair,
Pledge heavenly protection is the scapular we wear.
Chorus
Queen and mother of
Medugorji, Christ’s dear gift on Calvary
Refuge sure in every danger, Confident we fly to thee Mother
Hear our humble pleadings grant the favors we implore,
To thy love we are appealing, bless us now and evermore.
Chorus
“Who Do They Say I Am”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Who Do they say I am?
Who do they say I am?
Some say Elijah.
Some say Jeremiah.
Some say your John.
Who Do they say I am?
Who do they say I am?
Chorus
You are the messiah.
You are Jesus, son of the living God
You are the messiah.
You are Jesus, son of the living God
Simon, son of Jonah
No mere man has revealed this to you,
Except my father in Heaven.
You are the rock, and upon this rock,
I will build my church,
I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven,
And the gate of Hell shall never prevail against it.
Chorus
“Give it All to Jesus”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Give it all, Give it all
Give it all to Jesus, Give it all.
Give Him your sorrows,
Give Him your pain,
Give Him those broken dreams.
Chorus
Through the gentle hands of Mary,
Our Mother so serene,
She will give it all to Jesus,
She is our reigning Queen.
Chorus
He’ll unite it with His suffering,
He’ll unite it with His pain,
Through the precious blood of Jesus,
Your suffering is not in vain.
Chorus
“Thank You Lord”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
I thank you Lord for this day that you have given me
With its peace and beauty – and eyes that I can see
Ears that I can listen to small birds in flight
And a voice that I can praise you Lord
For this precious gift of life
I hope my day will please you
My efforts may be small
When done with love for you
My God – you accept them all
Bless my intellect Oh God
That each thought may come from you
Grant me the grace to share your love
By what I say and do
That your gentle hand may guide me
Don’t let my feet astray
From the path that you have set for me
Lord keep me safe this day
“Gospel to the Resurrection”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
chorus
Halleluiah Jesus, Hail to our King,
Glory and praise, salutations to our King.
What a joy for Mary to see
her risen son,
To know the gates were open, the victory was won.
What a peace to happen, standing at her side,
To look into his sacred face, and see him glorified.
chorus
Mary Magdalene saw him at
the tomb
And heard him call her name.
He said “Go tell the disciples what you have seen and heard”
“Tell them to go to Galilee and I will meet them there.”
chorus
On the road to Emmaus the
sad disciples walked,
Suddenly He joined them and began to talk.
He spoke to them of scripture and God’s eternal love,
Their hearts like fire within them listening to his word.
chorus
As evening came they were
alone, they asked him to stay.
To bless and share their bread with them at the close of long, long day.
Taking bread in His sacred hands, looking up He prayed,
Giving thanks to His Father and with them He shared.
chorus
Suddenly they knew Him, in
the breaking of the bread,
As they looked upon his sacred face, what joy filled their souls.
He raised his hand and blessed them, in a moment he was gone.
chorus
Then realizing it was He,
they couldn’t contain their joy,
Turning back went like the wind, to announce to one and all,
Alleluia! He is risen, we have seen the Lord.
chorus
For 40 days he stayed with
them, and what a joy it was.
To have Him walk and talk with them, their glorious risen Lord.
He promised to send His spirit, to guide and strengthen them,
“.. And my peace I leave with you, until I return again.”
Chorus
“Calling Everyone”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Calling everyone, she’s calling everyone, calling everyone today.
Calling everyone to her cenacle, she’s calling everyone to pray,
Calling everyone to pray.
Gather round the blessed virgin, pray her rosary,
She’s the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the gift of the Trinity.
Chorus
The immaculate heart of Mary, such beauty to behold,
The gifts of the Holy Spirit to our heart to us unfold.
Chorus
“The Gifts That I Gave You”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Give and account for your stewardship today,
For now you are steward no longer.
What did you do with the gifts that I gave you?
What have you done with my pearl?
Did you use them for me, for the glory of God
Or throw them away to the world.
Did you welcome my poor that I sent to your door
Or quietly decide to ignore them?
What did you do with the gifts that I gave you?
What have you done with my pearl?
Did you use them for me, for the glory of God
Or throw them away to the world.
The gifts that you have, they come straight from God,
Nothing to do with you.
Did you use them today?
Did you witness for me to those who are going astray?
Did you welcome them back to the haven of truth?
To the God that is waiting for them.
What did you do with the gifts that I gave you?
What have you done with my pearl?
Did you use them for me, for the glory of God
Or throw them away to the world.
“My Jesus I Trust in Thee”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
My Jesus I trust in thee, have mercy on me Jesus.
When I stand before thee, be not my judge but my savior.
My Jesus I trust in thee.
Red and white rays shining from your divine heart to me.
Sign of your true divinity, sign of your love for me.
My Jesus I trust in thee, My Jesus I trust in thee,
Have mercy on me Jesus, When I stand before thee,
Be not my judge but my savior, My Jesus I trust in thee.
By myself I merit nothing to gain eternity.
Your precious blood has saved me and has set me free.
My Jesus I trust in thee, My Jesus I trust in thee,
Have mercy on me Jesus, When I stand before thee,
Be not my judge but my savior, My Jesus I trust in thee.
“Guardian Angel”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Oh my dear guardian angel be
close to me
As I go along life’s dreary way to my home in eternity.
You are my life’s companion, a true and faithful friend,
A perfect gift from the father, you will be with me ‘til the end.
And when I go to sleep at
night, you stand in guard of me,
To make sure my sleep is peaceful, you intercede for me.
The Father always hears your prayer, because you’re so full of love.
You are gentle, tall and beautiful and you see the face of God.
My life is full of worries, at times I’m so distressed,
No one knows my heartaches, my angel knows me best.
Dear guardian be with me when I take my dying breath,
Take my soul to heaven, drenched in my savior’s blood.
“Elizabeth’s Song”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Who am I? Who am I? That the Mother of God should visit me?
Who am I? Who am I? That the Mother of God should visit me?
The moment that your voice sounded in my ear,
The babe in my womb jumped for joy!
Jumped for joy! The babe in my womb jumped for joy!
Who am I? Who am I? That the Mother of God should visit me?
Who am I? Who am I? That the Mother of God should visit me?
The Lord has looked on his anointed one and lifted her up.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
Because he that is mighty has done great things for me,
And Holy is His name, Holy is His name, Holy is His name.
The promise made to Abraham is fulfilled in me today,
Holy, Holy, Holy is His name.
Who am I?
“Big and Wide is this Great Divide”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Chorus
Big and wide is this great divide that separates us from Jesus,
Illuminates on every side but it separates us from Jesus.
Big and wide on every side that separates us from Jesus
Big and wide is this great divide and many there are who find it.
They move so fast, but they don’t know where,
Just moving away from Jesus.
Please turn back, get off that fast track,
Get on that road with Jesus.
It’s narrow and dark with potholes and cracks
And your only light is Jesus.
Chorus
He’ll be at your side when you stumble and fall
To help you on your journey,
So pick up your cross and go forward again,
You’re on that road with Jesus.
Chorus
We come to our end and our life is all spent,
And our journey here is so long.
How great it will be, how great it will be
To rest in the arms of Jesus.
Chorus
“Heaven is Forever”
written by Mary Ellen Jennings
Heaven is forever, forever it will be
Forever, yes forever, for all eternity.
Take your cross and follow Jesus and you will surely be,
In heaven, yes in heaven, for all eternity,
Heaven is forever, forever it will be
Forever, yes forever, for all eternity.
We join the saints and angels in the glorious melody,
Giving praise and adoration to the Holy Trinity,
Heaven is forever, forever it will be
Forever, yes forever, for all eternity.
See the face of Jesus across that crystal sea,
As we bow in adoration to the Holy Trinity,
Heaven is forever, forever it will be
Forever, yes forever, for all eternity.
See the blessed virgin in her serenity,
All robed and clothed with glory, By the Holy Trinity
Heaven is forever, forever it will be
Forever, yes forever, for all eternity.
Take your cross and follow Jesus and you will surely be,
In heaven, yes in heaven, for all eternity,
Join the saints and angels in the glorious melody,
Giving praise and adoration to the Holy Trinity,
Heaven is forever, forever it will be
Forever, yes forever, for all eternity.
